What Grove includes

Search it, then file it

Grove starts exactly where Seed starts. I search the name first and write you an opinion letter. If the name is clear, the application goes to the USPTO. If it isn't, you get up to two courtesy searches of a new name before anything is filed, so you never pay to file a name that was going to be refused.

  • Everything in Seed, with up to two courtesy searches
  • Federal application in up to two classes
  • Procedural Office Action responses
  • Correspondence with you and the USPTO through registration
  • Each class beyond two is $300, plus the USPTO fee

Good to know

What Grove doesn't cover

A substantive Office Action, where the USPTO argues your name conflicts with another mark or describes what you sell, is legal research and a written legal argument. Grove covers procedural ones. Substantive ones are billed separately, or covered by Harvest.

The search tells us how likely a substantive Office Action is before anything is filed. If the risk is real, you can move up to Harvest at that point, which costs less than paying for a substantive response later, or use one of your courtesy searches to try another name.

After filing, the USPTO sets the pace. I keep you updated at every step and handle the correspondence; you don't need to watch the mail.
